New York Red Bulls And Barcelona Result

Barcelona defeats the New York Red Bulls 2-0.
Three starts and no goals for new Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski, who failed to find the back of the net despite multiple chances in his club’s 2-0 friendly win over the New York Red Bulls in front of a pro-Barcelona sellout crowd at Red Bull Arena.

Ousmane Dembele was the pivotal player in Barcelona’s attack for the second match in a row. The Frenchman came across the field to combine with Raphinha before ripping a shot into the far side netting. With three minutes remaining, Memphis Depay capitalised on a defensive miscommunication.

Barcelona’s best chances fell to Lewandowski –

The New York Red Bulls dominated the first half and were nearly goalless at the break. Emergency defending and a handful of fine saves from goalkeeper Carlos Coronel kept the game tight, but Dembele broke through just before the break.

Several of Barcelona’s best chances fell to Lewandowski, who either shot straight at the goalkeeper or missed the target. Lewandowski smirked as RBNY’s backup goalkeeper Ryan Meara made the latest in a string of saves.

Barcelona returned to Spain after their four-game trip to the United States with a record of three victories and one tie. Before beginning the La Liga season against Rayo Vallecano in mid-August, they will play Mexican team Pumas UNAM in their home stadium, Camp Nou. The Red Bulls keep up their effort to qualify for the MLS playoffs in October and pursue their goal of winning the MLS Cup.

Why Lewandowski unable to score?

So what happened to the goal-scoring forward that Barcelona believed it had acquired in the Polish player? He is notorious for blowing opportunities, but despite having several against the Red Bulls, he still failed to score. There is still one more friendly for him to try to break his duck, failing which the pressure for the La Liga debut against Rayo Vallecano will really increase.

Barcelona frustrate –

Lewandowski appears to be having trouble scoring during this brief three-game sample due to a combination of unfavourable luck, solid defending, and some misplaced shots. The truth is that the penalty area will be crowded given how opponents prefer to sit back and frustrate Barcelona. Lewandowski wants to be clinical every time he gets the chance in the box. Lewandowski might benefit from occasionally being a little more creative and unpredictable with his finishing attempts.
